Our 10th Anniversary: A Decade of Breaking Cycles of Domestic Abuse and Giving Babies the Best Start in Life
This year marks a huge milestone for The For Baby’s Sake Trust as we celebrate 10 years of delivering For Baby’s Sake: our pioneering, whole-family approach to breaking cycles of domestic abuse.
Our vision is for a world where babies and children grow up free from the harm of domestic abuse. Our mission is to provide and promote therapeutic, trauma-informed support that breaks cycles of domestic abuse and gives babies the best start in life.
Over the last 10 years we have provided long-term, trauma-informed therapeutic support to over 700 families, positively impacting more than 2,600 family members and enhancing the lives of over 700 babies and over 500 other children in the families. We have delivered training to thousands of professionals in trauma-informed, whole-family support and have represented the voice of babies impacted by domestic abuse in policy and practice.
We are grateful to every parent, practitioner, funder, and supporter who has joined us on our journey to break cycles of domestic abuse and give babies the best start in life. Looking ahead, we remain committed to achieving our ambitious goals and furthering our mission.

We aspire for the UK to become the global leader in whole-family, trauma-informed support.
To achieve this goal, we need to expand our outreach, promote evidence of what works, and advocate for the provision of whole-family, trauma informed support in our local and national response to domestic abuse.

The impact so far
Since launching For Baby’s Sake in 2015, we have supported families facing some of the most complex challenges, with transformative results:
90%
of babies in our programme achieve their one-year developmental milestones in communication, emotional, and social development.
85%
of families with a one-year-old baby had no police call-outs in the past six months.
96%
in severe levels of domestic abuse across our families, and a 68% reduction in DA overall.
Two thirds
avoided escalation into proceedings or stepped down below that threshold.
